“The Changing Landscape of Bookselling” panel at Portland State University Feb. 19, 2015. Left to right: Yours truly, Gary Lothian (long-time representative of Ingram, the largest book distributor in the U.S.), and Michael Powell (owner of the one and only Powell’s City of Books).

Here I’m talking about Guy Kawasaki’s book APE—on the screen behind us, you can see “Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur.” I was the ape on the panel! One of the attendees may publish a write-up of what we said. If so, I’ll share the URL.

Below are the event details as posted beforehand.

  • Gary Lothian, representative of Ingram, the largest book distributor in the U.S.
  • Marcia Riefer Johnston, author of Word Up!

The panel will be moderated by Kent Watson, executive director of PubWest and adjunct professor in the graduate program in Book Publishing at Portland State University.
